Starting Stretch Therapy

Starting Stretch Therapy is a 12-week course designed to take a deep dive into the Stretch Therapy system and help you develop your own personalized practice. Each session of the course builds upon the previous sessions, so participation in all sessions from the beginning is required. (Missed sessions can be made up for with discounted private sessions. More details provided upon reservation.)

Classes are held weekly for a total of 12 sessions, during which participants will learn solo and partner stretches for the whole body as well as the techniques that make those stretches highly effective. At the end of the course, participants should have a solid grasp of the Stretch Therapy system – including its fundamental principles, techniques, and poses – and should have developed enough awareness of their own body to effectively guide themselves in a personalized practice at home. Participants should come out of the course with improved flexibility, strength, and resilience, resulting in an enhanced sense of grace and ease in their bodies.

All necessary equipment will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat if they have one. Classes may be conducted primarily in either Japanese or English, depending on the needs of the class participants. Regardless of the primary language of instruction, an effort will be made to ensure that all students understand the material and questions are always welcome.
